Yarra valley is a large wine making region approximately 48 kilometers east of Melbourne surrounding the Yarra River. "Yarra" means "waterfall" in Aboriginal Australian.

Here the climate is temperate with moderate rainfall and adequate sunlight - ideal conditions to cultivate grapes for wine. This is the reason that in the 1800's European migrants chose this valley to be the location of one of Australia's earliest wine regions. Every year Yarra valley produces many excellent wines available not only to Australia, but also exported all over the world.

Today many tourists visit Yarra valley, not only for her good quality wines but also for the region's astounding beauty.
